Coming Soon to our Family
On Wednesday we had our ultrasound done. It was so neat to see the baby moving around and the technician showed us everything from the tiny little feet to the heart and bladder. Baby moved around a lot, it stretched its legs out and as you can see in the picture it brought its legs up to its chest. It also moved its arms over its head then covered its eyes. I wonder what it is gonna be like once its born if it likes its space that much ha ha. I felt bad for baby cause it had hiccups the whole time we were watching it, wish I could have helped them go away :)So I have to ask.....do you think its a boy or girl?

What a difference a few weeks make!
I thought I would add another picture to our website, as in 4 weeks time my baby bump has grown a lot. It's so neat to see the growth and know that there is something precious inside :) This picture is taken at 19 weeks, Half way there! I am feeling great and have no complaints. Our kitchen is almost done....thank heavens! We have the cabinets installed, the flooring in, the tile backsplash on and our dishwasher installed. All that is left is to touch up the paint and move in, Yay!!

Baby Bump
As promised...I said we would try and update on my baby bump as it developed. So here is the first picture. Here I am 15 weeks along (keep in mind I am wearing maternity pants so the bump is a little uneven). I think I actually started showing at 10 weeks but its hard to take a sideways picture of yourself Ha Ha. As I am now in the second trimester, things are good. Morning sickness has left and I am not as tired now. So all in all I hope that I now I can really enjoy being pregnant.Monday, March 9, 2009
Adding a New Member to the Family
The month of February proved to be a great one for Ben and I! Not only did we have a great time celebrating Valentines Day and renovating our kitchen, but we also found out that we are expecting!
We are super excited and can't wait to meet the baby! We are due November 3, but that usually changes lol! We were not going to tell a lot of people other than our families but we couldn't keep our excitement in. We are going to try to update this website as my belly begins to grow, but I apologize in advance if we are a little slow at the updates.
Today is Ben's first day of his 4th year apprenticeship. This will be his last year and then he will be a certified journeyman. So I wish him luck and hope that the next 8 weeks go by fast.
The kitchen renovations went really good. Ben managed to get a whole lot accomplished before he left for school. The only things left to do are putting the countertop on, installing the floor, and doing the baseboards and trim. It looks great and I can't wait to have a kitchen again.
The renos may not stop there. Now that the baby is coming...Nick graciously offered to move his room downstairs so that we could have the baby's nursery upstairs with us. (I think he just wanted to get away from the baby crying). So we are now looking at putting a bathroom downstairs so that Nick doesn't have to come upstairs at night if he needs to use the bathroom. Plus it means that he will be responsible for his own bathroom....yay less cleaning for me LOL. We haven't finalized this decision yet but it is something we are looking at.
We do have some sad news too. My cat Jack had to be put down last week. He had a really sore hip, had some breathing problems and wasn't cleaning himself or moving a lot. The doctor also told me that due to my allergies and being pregnant that it would be a good idea to have him out of the house till the baby came. So Ben and I decided that it was probably best to put him to sleep. It was a very hard thing to do and we miss him so much!
So there has been a lot going on in our little neck of the woods. Hope all is going great with everyone!!

Quick Update
Well Ben is now done school for this session. He finished on Dec.12 but won't get his marks for another 2 ot 6 weeks. He is so happy thats done, too bad he goes back in March Ha Ha.
Right now we are getting ready for the Christmas season. We have put all our decorations up and pretty much have all of our gifts purchased. So this year there seemed to be less stress, don't know why but I am not complaining.
We hope to be able to see all of our friends and family over this holiday, but if we don't we hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Happy New Year!

Hi Ho Hi Ho It's Off to School We Go!
Well its that time again, yes its time for Ben to go back to school. He is now taking his 3rd year apprenticeship in Carpentry at Red Deer College. We are glad that he is working on getting his ticket, but it definitely is not fun being away from each other. So wish him well and I send him lots of hugs and kisses.
Not much else is going on in our lives. Ben is in school, I am working, and Nick is still working at the mine. We are renovating our kitchen once Ben comes back from school. I am definitely excited about that. I can't wait to have new flooring in the kitchen as the old one is so stained it looks like I never wash the floor, Ha Ha.
So that's about all that is going on with us, talk to you all soon!
